Have you always wanted to learn Chinese art, but haven’t because you don’t speak Chinese? Have you been drawn to beautiful calligraphy, but haven’t known how to interpret it? Do you have an impulse to draw your own lines with ancient writing tools, but don’t know how to start?
InkMoon Intro Workshop is specifically designed for you! Come explore traditional Chinese culture without having any previous background. You will be surprised at how accessible and enjoyable this ancient art is.
During a two-hour Chinese calligraphy workshop in English, you will discover a new world: You will hear a brief overview of the history of Chinese calligraphy, listen to interesting stories behind great works of art, explore writing tools which have been used for a thousand years and create your own artwork in the same way as the ancients.
Using a brush and ink, you will explore a black and white world that is more than just an art, but the very spirit of life that Chinese people have lived by for thousands of years.
"This is a good class. The teacher takes great care explaining and demonstrating in detail how brushwork is handled, and you are given ample time to practice as much as you like."
--Kirk from USA
"Lucy did a wonderful job explaining the history of calligraphy in a compelling way that gave me a new appreciation for learning Chinese characters. When it came to the practical exercises, she was extremely patient and helpful in showing us how to trace our first characters. This introductory course was a great experience and window to Chinese culture!"
--Natalie from Canada
